Ready to head to East Texas.  Snoozed the entire way.

Daddy let her drive on the cabin's property.
She loved it of course!

Daddy trying to school her on the safety rules of riding an ATV.
She loved every second and didn't want to get off.

Chilling with my little guy on the dock while Michael and Landry fished

Her first fish!  She wasn't a huge fan once they were actually out of the water flopping around.

Weekends like this one are what life is all about.  Michael and I took the kiddos out East for three days for pure fun in the sun.

We started out at the local festivities with some friends. Landry loved the cups of popcorn, petting zoo, bounce houses, live music and zillions of kiddos running around.  Barrett was just wide-eyed the whole time taking in the fun.

We timed it just right to hop on the road at nap time.  Luckily it worked out as planned and the kiddos slept nearly the entire drive to Michael's family's lake house.  Michael wanted to spend a night at "the cabin" so Landry could fish, ride around in an ATV, feed the catfish and watch him light fireworks.

We did all that and more.  She loved every single second.  Her favorite thing was the ATV.  The four of us drove it around the lake for a nice ride but she wanted to go faster so Michael zipped her around after dropping off Barrett and me.  She kept saying "more, more; one more time!" when he'd pull up to the house.  There's no doubt she's a little daredevil and loves speed -- or "vroom vroom" as she calls it.

I think Michael enjoyed our stay as much as Landry showing off his childhood stomping grounds that he still visits with his friends and cherishes.  He and Barrett will for sure log some serious hours out there down the road.

For the remainder of the weekend, we holed up at our lake house which is only about 45 minutes away from the cabin.  It was lovely.  We did art projects, rode bikes, hula hooped, played by the water, watched movies, ate pizza and more.  It was exactly what we always do (until we have a boat, anyway -- we're working on it!).  Fun, simple stuff that makes Landry so happy and us in return.

Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th!
