I had two segments on TV this morning to promote the flea on a local morning talk show. Here's a little look at the jewelry spot -- and Barrett's first 15 minutes (well, five) of fame.

Last week flew by with so much on my plate. It turned out that Courtney coming in town for Homecoming weekend was just what I needed to slow things down a bit and relax.
Thursday we had practically an all-nighter catching up after her evening flight arrived. She had sorority stuff all day Friday so I had a full mommy-and-me day with Landry. We took a morning walk, shopped at the mall, had lunch on the town, hit the park and even visited Michael at work for a little bit.
I'm so obsessed with this 19 month stage. She is so much fun! She's really starting to communicate. She now says "up" and "down" when she wants to be fed, get out of the highchair to play, be picked up, etc. She can identify an animal and make their noises -- moo, meow -- and loves to say bye bye to just about anything she passes.
Giving kisses are another favorite past time. She gets in these kissing spells where she wants to give a dozen kisses in a row. She's very vocal when doing it making a loud mmmmm..... noise with each little peck.
And she's a walking machine. She really never crawls anymore. She's a little wobbly at times but really doing great. She tends to keep her little arms or hands in the air when she walks for balance and it's just the cutest thing.
Friday night Michael, Courtney and I went out with friends for dinner and drinks. We ate at Courtney's favorite Mexican restaurant, Javiers, and then the gang had cocktails at this cool new lounge nearby. Saturday we had a girls day from hitting a local estate sale and flea market to lunch at R&D and some serious clothing shopping since Louisville doesn't have much to offer. Although I didn't really shop for clothes, I scored several finds at the estate sale and flea including three vintage tomahawks laced with leather and feathers to hang in Barrett's nursery.
I'm feeling really good these days preggo-wise. My lower back pain has actually subsided, which is a huge relief. My energy levels are a little lower than normal but nothing I can't handle. He's moving in my belly like crazy. Luckily, I'm sleeping great and don't have any discomfort at night other than having to run to the restroom around 3 a.m. without fail.
I'm craving tons of sweets right now for some strange reason. I'm also getting full a lot faster than normal so I'm guessing he's getting pretty crowded in there and leaving less and less room for food.
Michael and I are finally getting started on the nursery tomorrow after work. We plan to lay out Barrett's rug and build the crib. The rest will have to wait until I complete the Jones job mid-November.
Tomorrow is the start of the busiest two weeks of my life. I'll be back -- more than likely a year older! -- when I have time to catch my breath!

27 weeks
I just had to check the calendar to see how many weeks pregnant I am today. That's how crazy things are around Casa Cobb these days!
This past week was a whirlwind with a last minute day trip to Missouri and move-in day at the lake house on Friday. The lake house remodel has been a real thorn in my side the past couple of weeks. To make a long story short, I've basically fired all of the original contractors because they're either too slow, doing sub-par work, or both.
After pushing my install back a week, I decided to move everything in on Friday anyway to finally empty out our garage and guest bedroom so I can finally start thinking about pulling together a nursery for Barrett. The move went great, but the house is still about a week or two from completion. I came home Friday a little bent out of shape about it all and decided to call my go-to Dallas crew and see if they could work over the weekend.
Luckily, a couple of guys were free so Michael and I met them out there yesterday (along with Landry after babysitter plans fell through). We got a load of work done and they should finish just about everything by mid this week.
All that said, the place is shaping up to be absolutely darling and I can't wait to enjoy it with family and friends soon. Landry had a ball out there from playing on the dock to watching the ducks swim around. It was a bit difficult at times (she refused to nap with so much action going on in the house and no crib to speak of), but reaffirmed how much fun we will have as a family out there.
The reason I've been so determined to finish the house by this weekend is that starting tomorrow I am 24/7 committed to my flea market and the Jones job for the next month (plus, Courtney is in town next weekend for SMU homecoming). The flea is November 2nd and then I fly to Missouri on the 4th for a week to install the lodge and will possibly be back out on the ranch the following week for a few days. Thank goodness Mimi arrives next week for a good 10 days or so to lend a helping hand!
On the walking front, Landry is doing great. She's now walking about 90 percent of the time. I can't believe just two weeks ago she wasn't taking a step and today she's a little walking machine.
Today we had brunch with our friends Ariana and Jason and their one-year old daughter Leila. Leila is also walking and the girls are so darn cute together bopping around, playing with eachothers' hair, and giving kisses. Ari cooked a killer brunch and then the boys watched the Cowboys game. It was the perfect lazy Sunday after our crazy Saturday romp out east.
While Landry napped this afternoon, I cleared out a last few things from the old guest bedroom to start on Barrett's nursery soon. Our crib arrived recently so I will have Michael build it this week. I found some really cute bedding so at least his sleeping quarters will be complete soon. I have a tee pee-inspired canopy in mind for around the crib I plan to tackle next. I don't really have a theme in mind for his room but it will loosely be Indian inspired (as in Native American -- think feathers, bows and arrows, wild animals).
We ended our day with a delicious grilled chicken dinner courtesy of Michael. The weather has been beautiful here and we took full advantage tonight.
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Landry's first steps!
Today I'm 26 weeks pregnant. I've officially gained 20 pounds and in the final days of buttoning my favorite skinny jeans. Any day now I expect that fasten to not close...
Barrett is really starting to move and kick around in my belly -- especially at night. As I write this post I can see my shirt wiggle every couple of minutes.
This week was a big one for the Cobbs! Just hours after writing my last post Landry Grace decided to take her first steps!!!
I had just arrived home from the lake and relieved Cristina. Landry and I were playing on the kitchen floor just before dinner time when I came up with a little game. I should preface with the fact that Landry is obsessed with the oven. Whenever I cook she loves to look inside with the light on.
So for some reason I decided to put Maria (her binky with the monkey attached) in the oven. I had Landry standing about four feet away and then flipped on the light. I said, "Landry, go rescue Maria from the oven." And she simply -- and very slowly -- took six steps to the oven.
I was shocked! I texted Michael and my parents right away. Michael didn't believe me. Mom said to get it on film. I was so shocked I put her in her high chair and fed her dinner so I didn't wear her out. I wanted Michael to be home for the next try.
Remember, this was our anniversary night and Bradley was coming over to babysit. He arrived just after I finished feeding Landry dinner and I showed him the trick. Sure enough, she did it again. When Michael came home, she did it again. That time I got it on camera (see above).
Ever since then she's been walking off and on all day and night. Now she doesn't even need to rescue Maria from the oven to be motivated. Even though we were never worried about her walking late (the doctor and physical therapist assured us it was simply a strength thing and nothing to do with motor skills or intelligence), it's nice to see her on her two feet and so excited about being mobile.
I watched Landry's friends start walking and it was such a process. They'd take a step or two and then come back to it a day or so later. It's funny that Landry went from not walking to taking 30 steps at a time within days. It's so true that every baby develops at their own speed and differently.
On Friday Landry had her 18 month appointment, even though she turned 19 months yesterday (our doctor took a month-long sabbatical). She is in the 30th percentile for weight and 80th for height (wish I had those measurements!!!). She has three new teeth, too. They all popped up over the past two weeks. The doctor said she's developing great and that her hearing and eyesight seem perfect.
With everything we went through during pregnancy with Landry, we feel so blessed she's such a healthy and happy baby!

25 weeks
On Sunday, I celebrated 25 weeks with my bun in the oven. This photo was taken at 24 weeks, but I've been very bad about taking photos of the bump this pregnancy so it's the most recent photo I have to share.
I had a doctor's visit Monday to check on the little guy. His heartbeat sounded great and I'm measuring on track. I told my doctor about my nagging lower back pain and she prescribed warm baths and back massages -- two of my favorite things -- so I'll be sure to follow the doctor's orders!
Given my c-section history, she also asked to schedule Barrett's birth. It caught me a little off guard as I scheduled Landry at 36 weeks or so if I remember right. But, given the busy holiday schedule, I wanted to make sure I snagged a day my doctor's in town.
I had been thinking about his birthday a lot lately. We don't have any significant dates in the immediate family to fall on. I knew I wanted a Monday or Tuesday delivery if possible (that way I get to go home on the weekend and have Michael around and out of town family can visit on my comfy turf versus the icky hospital room). That gave me 1/13 or 1/14 so I opted for 1/14/14. Landry's birthday is 3/12/12, so I thought it was kind of fun to have him on 14 of 14.
All that said, he could very well arrive at any time late December on. And given the timing of things lately, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he decided to show up to the party on Christmas or New Years. Fingers crossed he waits until 2014 to show his sweet little self.
I can't believe I haven't even started a single step in his nursery. His room is currently a guest room and everything inside is moving to the lake house so I've been waiting for the big move (next Thursday, yay!) to start decorating. I have an idea of what I want to do but just couldn't really get anything going in a room full of furniture. Once the Jones job is complete mid November, I plan to really hit his room hard.
Today is a very special day at Casa Cobb. It's our third wedding anniversary! I can't believe we've only been married three years. We've packed so much in it feels like we should be in the double digits. Bradley is going to babysit tonight so we can grab a quiet dinner and toast. I'm heading to the lake house to check on progress today so I'm very much looking forward to relaxing with Michael tonight and enjoying a nice glass of wine or bubbly.
Cheers!

California surprise trip
My mom thought it would be fun to surprise my dad so I had to keep the trip a secret for a couple of weeks. It was such fun to see his reaction when he walked in the door Wednesday after work!
I had a great couple of days with my darling new clients and really got a good start on their project. I also fit in some family fun over the weekend from brunch with the great-grandparents to a day at the beach with Mimi and Papa.
The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we soaked up every second we could in the sun. A little sad to be home so soon but excited to return for Thanksgiving.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend.

DallasChild Baby article
Last month, DallasChild Baby magazine visited Landry and me for a little one-on-one time and photo op to tout my pregnancy with baby #2.
Although they got a few facts wrong about my line of work (and I never refer to myself as Brittany "Edwards" Cobb although it's my legal moniker), the article turned out cute and I'm so happy to show sweet Barrett some love.
