So... the last time I posted I was on my way to Marrakech. I made it in one piece (solo!) and had a crazy wonderful time with my family and friends.
We packed in our week there with everything from a camel ride and trek up the Atlas mountains to some serious rug shopping and a magical candlelit birthday dinner in a tent. I just adore Marrakech. I will go back very soon without a doubt. I'm obsessed with the people, culture, shopping and food.
I came home Easter weekend. We filled our days with multiple Easter egg hunts and meals with family and friends. Landry is so obsessed with opening eggs I think Easter is her new favorite holiday.
The past couple weeks have been crazy busy work-wise. I've been settling into my new office for one. I also hired a new employee to help me with Cobb Interiors and an intern for the flea this summer. I'm in the thick of tying my Rockport client up in a bow to install in June and just bought all furnishings for a big corporate lobby install late next month. I have a new new-build on my plate along with several mid size projects. When it rains, it pours but I am welcoming the fun projects and really enjoying all of my clients right now. I feel SO fortunate.
The flea is chugging right along, too. I set a date for fall while I figure out my next move. I have a very exciting meeting tomorrow for a potential location. Hopefully I have some fun news to report soon...
I need a space soooooo bad. I have five to ten new artisans emailing DAILY right now for space in the show. I could fill Cowboys stadium at this point with my database of talent. It's so exciting, just need to make sure I make the right move every step of the way moving forward and growing the biz.
On top of both of those gigs, I've spent the past two weeks outfitting a 300 square foot booth space with flea inspired items and donations from my vendors for a charity event that kicks off this Thursday. The organization asked me to donate my time and styling to help them raise money. It's been a lot of fun but mucho work.
Lately we've been hanging out with friends a lot. Last weekend we had a big dinner with Ariana and Jason and several other pals; Sunday we met friends for brunch and then had them over so the kids could burn off their pancakes with the bounce house and bubble machine.
Last week I had my favorite play date in a while: a cozy sushi dinner date with Paula and Jon! As much as I love dates with the hubs and kids, I love a good momma's night out too! I even snuck in a little lunch date in on the fly with my dear college friend Fran on Thursday.
This weekend we had a major adventure. We invited Kyle and Lindsey and their two kids to the lake house for an overnight. We had a ball. Don't get me wrong, four toddlers under one roof has it's moments but overall the babies were so good and we had some big fun (think s'mores, fishing, fire pit, pizza, bunk bed pillow fights, major thunder storm and cocktails on the patio).
Landry is finally consistently tackling potty training. What a relief! She is talking a mile a minute and says the funniest stuff. She still loves swim class, ballet and playing with her friends. She's really into Play-Doh and digging in the dirt.
Barrett is on the move. His new thing is climbing on furniture like coffee tables, chairs and poufs. He loves doing anything his big sister does. His new favorite food is waffles. He LOVES them. Every morning he grunts and giggles the minute he sees the box (like I'm cooking homemade waffles every morning!!!). He has seven teeth and one little blond curl at the back of his head. He's a total momma's boy and that's just the way I want it.
