April recap and teething (again)

April has been a total whirlwind!

Michael and I just got back from five nights in Harbour Island -- sans baby.  The trip was simply fabulous and just what the doctor ordered.  We left a couple days after the flea so we were ready for some serious relaxation time.  My mom was so helpful and stayed at the house to watch Landry and enjoy some quality time with the string bean.

Unfortunately, we came home to a teething baby.  The past two nights have been rough to say the least.      It's so sad to see her in so much pain.  You know it's bad when she welcomes the Motrin syringe.

This week I've been busy in meetings for the flea expansion.  We're making major progress!  I met with Starbucks on Tuesday to go inside the space but not sure how I feel about it just yet (the terms are complicated).  I'm beyond amazed by the interest of major companies to be apart of my little business.  Today Square (a cool credit card reader device) contacted me to be a part of the club, too.  I can't wait for the fall when all of this hard work will come alive!

I've also been working away on my Missouri project for the Jones.  The house is really coming together and looking fabulous.  They have been making so many changes that I feel that I'll be on this job for years at this point though.  We are making a major effort to keep it moving along -- even holding meetings at Valley Ranch during draft week! -- and will hopefully be installing by end of August just in time for me to switch gears come September with the flea launch.

Meanwhile Landry is really getting mobile.  She's completely crawling and trying to stand.  She's constantly pulling on furniture to be upright.  She's also learned to clap and loves to copy simple sounds you say (no and "a" "e" "i" "o" "u" are favorites).  She loves to get into things -- especially dirty things like my office trash can and dry cleaning hamper.

This weekend we plan to enjoy the nice weather with Landry and hit a few fun events in town.  I'm so looking forward to relaxing with the family after being away from Landry for a week.
