A cool article on the flea and my design biz.  Check it out here.
Let the games begin: Uncle Ryan is in town!
We had a wonderful time in California!  We fit in loads of family time, dates with friends and relaxation thanks to a little adult getaway to Palm Springs.  We also enjoyed a family-friend's wedding, flea market and the kids even got to go to Disneyland with my parents and Auntie Robin.  Our trip was action packed yet laid back too.  My favorite kind of vacation although traveling with two toddlers is definitely challenging at times.

Back to reality now that we've returned to Big D.  It's hot, mosquitoes are out and I have two installs in the next three weeks.  And let's not talk about the water damage to our stairwell and guest bedroom due to the crazy rains here lately.  I love Dallas but our relationship gets complicated during the summer between the triple digit temps, bugs and soggy weather.

Thankfully, we've made time for some big fun since being back.  Last week I had a quick girls night with friends at the lake.  Last Saturday we had a dinner date with our friends Kyle and Clay (Kyle -- a girl -- is an interior designer and we always have such fun getting together and talking shop).  Sunday we took the kids to brunch and then peeled the net off the pool for the first time this year.

The kids are doing so great.  Landry is finally completely out of diapers until nighttime.  To celebrate, we canned the baby crib and outfitted her room with a full size bed and big girl furniture (a storage bench for dress up clothes, a big nightstand for books and a reading lamp, etc.).  She LOVES her new room.  And even better, she has transitioned from crib to free standing bed like a champ.  We haven't had a single issue with her getting out of bed before morning.  Maybe waiting so long has it's perks.

Barrett is just the sweetest little guy ever.  He is obsessed with playing ball and shadowing his sister.  He's a little giggle machine and lets out these loud shrieks when he's overwhelmed with excitement.  I could listen to his little sounds and words (new favorites are "dada" "blanket" and "juice") all day long.

Ryan is in town and we've been having fun catching up, eating out and relaxing at home with the kids over cocktails.  This weekend we have dinner plans and a quick trip to the lakehouse.  Very thankful for pops of downtime with my favorite people while work is completely crazy.  Happy weekend!
